First Student, Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II to join our fleet maintenance team. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete repairs on buses and fleet vehicles to keep them safe and reliable.

The role involves working under moderate supervision and tackling both routine and complex maintenance tasks while maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in automotive or diesel maintenance preferred.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment.
• CDL with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Participation in ASE certification program, with 3 ASE certifications within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on buses and fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and related components.
• Identify mechanical defects and determine corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and repair documentation.
• Follow safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
