Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains school buses and other company vehicles per FMCSA guidelines.
• Inspects and tests equipment at prescribed intervals or after malfunction.
• Inspects, tests, and aligns bus lights and wheels; maintains electrical systems and controls; balances wheels and rotates tires.
• Disassembles, replaces worn parts; oils and greases vehicles; changes filters.
• Test drives repaired equipment.
• Performs limited bodywork and repainting as needed.
• Maintains part usage records and orders repair parts.
• Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and actions taken.
• May direct work of less skilled technicians.
