Job summary

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive manufacturing organization, seeks a Routing & Layout Planning Engineer to develop and validate vehicle component routing layouts, clipping and retention strategies, and manufacturing-ready installation solutions. The role requires hands-on CAD experience (AutoCAD and Siemens NX) and a solid mechanical/manufacturing engineering background.

You will support prototype builds, production readiness, and PFMEA activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in mechanical or manufacturing engineering within automotive or vehicle manufacturing.
• Experience with AutoCAD for 2D layouts and 3D CAD modeling.
• Knowledge of routing, clipping, and retention systems in vehicle assemblies.
• Experience supporting prototype builds and production launch activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 2D and 3D CAD layouts for low-voltage cables, power distribution systems, harnesses, and fluid lines.
• Design and validate routing paths considering packaging constraints, clearances, bend radius, and service accessibility.
• Define clipping and retention strategies including placement, spacing, mounting hardware, and protective materials.
• Evaluate manufacturing feasibility, installation sequences, ergonomics, and tooling requirements.
• Identify and resolve interference, routing conflicts, and installation challenges.
• Support prototype builds, production readiness activities, and manufacturing troubleshooting.
• Develop drawings, routing diagrams, clip maps, and documentation with revision control.
• Support PFMEA, process improvements, and corrective actions.
