Job summary

Blue Chip Talent is partnered with an automotive manufacturing organization seeking a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer focused on Vehicle Routing and Layout. You will develop routing layouts for vehicle components, optimize cable routing and retention, and support manufacturing feasibility and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree required with focus on mechanical/manufacturing disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing or vehicle assembly involving routing, packaging, or installation processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 2D and 3D CAD layouts for vehicle component routing, packaging, and assembly integration.
• Design and validate low-voltage battery cable routing, power distribution layouts, and clipping/retention strategies.
• Evaluate routing requirements for clearances, bend radius, thermal exposure, vibration, abrasion protection, and service accessibility.
• Support routing and retention planning for electrical harnesses, coolant lines, hoses, and other vehicle components.
• Identify and resolve component interference, installation challenges, and manufacturing feasibility issues.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process, and Design Engineering teams to implement routing improvements and engineering changes.
• Support prototype builds, production readiness activities, and troubleshooting to ensure assembly feasibility.
• Maintain engineering drawings, routing documentation, technical issue logs, and manufacturing work instructions.
