Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Routing & Layout Planning Engineer. This role is responsible for developing and validating vehicle component routing layouts, clipping and retention strategies, and manufacturing-ready installation solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical or manufacturing engineering background with hands‑on CAD experience and knowledge of vehicle assembly processes.
Job Duties
- Develop and maintain 2D and 3D CAD layouts for low-voltage battery cables, power distribution systems, electrical harnesses, and fluid lines
- Design and validate component routing paths considering packaging constraints, clearances, bend radius, thermal exposure, and service accessibility
- Define clipping and retention strategies, including clip placement, spacing, mounting hardware, and protective materials
- Evaluate manufacturing feasibility, installation sequences, operator ergonomics, and assembly tooling requirements
- Identify and resolve component interference, fitment, routing conflicts, and installation challenges
- Support prototype builds, production readiness activities, and manufacturing troubleshooting
- Develop engineering drawings, routing diagrams, clip maps, and manufacturing documentation while maintaining revision accuracy
- Support engineering change implementation, corrective actions, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities
