Job summary

Toyota North America is seeking a passionate Vehicle Planner for the Car & CUV team. The role will drive vehicle strategies, act as the subject-matter expert, and work across TMNA and TMC with a strong focus on US market needs.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Strategy, Marketing, and Design to develop compelling business cases, guide lifecycle decisions, and ensure program timelines are met while navigating global partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience.
• Experience in pricing, planning, and marketing strategy.
• Strong negotiation and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to travel up to 10% across the U.S. and Japan.
• Analytical thinker with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis to understand customer wants and market opportunities.
• Develop compelling business cases with product concepts, specs, volume forecast, pricing strategy, grade hierarchy, target customer, and feature content.
• Lead market research efforts and coordinate with TMC counterparts to uncover trends and needs.
• Collaborate and negotiate proposals with key stakeholders until consensus is reached.
• Communicate product concepts and action plans to senior management and stakeholders in the global organization.
• Manage product lifecycle to maximize sales and profit while meeting customer needs.
• Coordinate with TMC and represent U.S. market needs during development.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Enterprise Strategy, Distribution, Marketing, Corporate Communications, Design, and SPAD.
