Job Description
Position: Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic
Purpose: As a vehicle maintenance mechanic, you will serve as the on-site mechanic for Kimbel's fleet trucks and trailers. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems
- Perform basic mechanic duties, including but not limited to: oil changes, tire rotation and replacement, battery and light bulb replacements, trailer repairs, etc.
- Upload all receipts related to vehicle maintenance and repairs for 140+ vehicles
- Coordinate appointments with dealerships and other mechanics for repairs, warranty work, and maintenance
- Pick up and drop off vehicles for repairs or warranty work
- Travel to other Kimbel warehouse locations, including out-of-state sites, to provide assistance
- Assist with warehouse duties during slow mechanical periods
- Attend a one-week training in Fayetteville, Arkansas
Qualifications:
- Basic computer skills for record keeping
- Possess basic mechanic tools
- High mechanical aptitude
- Experience with welding
- Ability to pull and back a trailer or willingness to learn
- Effective communication skills with internal staff, vendors, and suppliers
- Attention to detail
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to multitask
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Availability to work 6 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening
