Job Summary

The maintenance mechanic role involves mechanical, electrical, and sheet metal repairs to maintain the production process, ensuring the safety and quality of the products produced.

Essential Functions - Job Duties

1. Ensure the safety and quality of the products that the line produces.
2. Remove, assemble, and install industrial parts, equipment, and machinery.
3. Modify equipment and machinery as needed to maintain optimal performance and efficiency.
4. Repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
5. Place work orders for parts needed.
6. Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled/unscheduled repairs, including lubrication and cleaning.
7. Collaborate with contractors and vendors on projects.
8. Construct parts or equipment from raw materials, following blueprints when directed.
9. Work with electrical systems, up to 480 volts 3-phase.
10. Utilize the in-house machine shop for welding and operating equipment like lathes, drill presses, milling machines, etc.
11. Work with other departments to improve production processes.
12. Maintain tools and inventory standards.
13. Perform cleaning and other tasks as assigned.
14. Attend safety, sanitation, production, and quality meetings.
15. Follow manual instructions or contact manufacturers for troubleshooting.
16. Familiarity with VFD programming is preferred.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 3-9 months related experience/training.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents.
• Basic math skills.
• No specific computer skills required.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions, solve simple problems.
• Physical ability to perform job duties.
