Job summary

Rumpke is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Foreman to lead maintenance staff, perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy trucks. You will ensure safety, manage preventive maintenance, and train technicians while maintaining accurate SAP records.

This on-site role requires strong mechanical skills, ability to read electrical diagrams, and the flexibility to work nights/weekends. CDL-B and DOT Medical Card preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of repair and maintenance on heavy trucks and diesel engines.
• Ability to read repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics for troubleshooting.
• Waste industry experience preferred.
• CDL B and DOT Medical Card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Regularly communicate with management regarding vehicle, container, and equipment status.
• Ensure repairs align with maintenance schedules and safety standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues; perform preventive maintenance.
• Keep records of maintenance in SAP and ensure safety devices are functional.
• Train and supervise technicians to ensure proper duties are completed.
• Perform administrative duties such as parts requisitions and cycle counts.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and operate shop equipment as needed.
