Job summary

Rumpke is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Foreman at our Effingham, IL operation. This working foreman role leads the maintenance staff, performs inspections, diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance on our fleet to keep trucks safe on and off the road.

Responsibilities include coordinating with management, training technicians, completing administrative duties, and ensuring compliance with regulations while maintaining accurate SAP records. CDL B and DOT Medical Card are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years repairing/maintaining heavy trucks and diesel engines.
• Able to read repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Waste industry experience preferred.
• CDL B and DOT Medical Card preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance staff and ensure repairs meet schedules.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicle systems (electrical, hydraulics, brakes).
• Perform roadside repairs and safety inspections.
• Maintain records of work in SAP and parts usage.
• Instruct technicians and train staff on maintenance procedures.
