Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Foreman to lead the maintenance team, perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy trucks and diesel engines. You will ensure safety, compliance with regulations, and preventive maintenance programs while coordinating with management.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of heavy truck experience, ability to read manuals and wiring diagrams, and may hold CDL‑B or DOT Medical Card.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of repair and maintenance on heavy trucks and diesel engines
• Ability to read repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Waste industry experience preferred
• CDL‑B preferred
• DOT Medical Card preferred

Responsibilities

• Communicate with management on status of vehicles, containers, and equipment
• Ensure repairs follow maintenance schedules and safety standards
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform proper repairs
• Maintain safe work practices in accordance with regulations and company policies
• Follow preventive maintenance programs and inspect vehicle support systems
• Perform roadside repairs and adjustments as needed
• Instruct and train technicians, ensuring proper completion of duties
• Maintain accurate records in SAP and handle cycle counts and parts usage
