Job summary

United Road in Romulus, MI seeks an Operations Manager to assist the Terminal Manager in supervising staff and terminal processes. You will lead daily operations, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and maintain equipment and customer relationships.

The role emphasizes cost analysis, vendor relations, and accurate inventory management, with a focus on incident response and process improvements. A strong logistics background is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of logistics experience, preferably in trucking.
• Two years of supervisory experience in finished vehicle transportation.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Direct the duties of staff and supervise terminal operations.
• Operate terminal efficiently by analyzing costs and equipment use.
• Ensure on-time freight delivery and resolve delivery issues.
• Build lasting relationships with customers and vendors.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain safety standards.
• Share information with regional leadership on staffing, budget, risks.
• Establish procedures to ensure safety and productivity.
• Review CSA violations and address driver discipline per policy.
• Maintain OEM inventories in OVISS and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
