Job summary

Waymo is seeking an experienced interior trim development engineer to help shape the next generation of vehicle interiors across our autonomous platform. You will lead packaging studies, material recommendations, and interface considerations that balance cost with premium quality.

This hybrid role reports to a Vehicle Engineering Leader and requires 5+ years in interior trim, with strong supplier collaboration and DFM experience. Domestic and international travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Worked at vehicle manufacturers or Tier 1 suppliers in product development/engineering.
• Launched multiple vehicles through production ramp
• Studio surface and panel interface co-development experience
• Experience with DFM during tooling launches
• Experience benchmarking competitor vehicles
• Understanding of vehicle assembly strategies and sequencing

Responsibilities

• Develop/guide vehicle interiors: hard trim, soft trim, door trim, trunk trim, cabin NVH.
• Create layouts and package studies in 3D CAD/CATIA V6 to support production part development.
• Recommend interior trim materials balancing cost vs premium quality.
• Provide standard and premium interior execution options for leadership evaluation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify future supplier partners for components
