Job summary

Rivian seeks an Interior Engineer to join the Cockpit and Trim team in California. You will design, model, and validate Class A plastic injection-molded interior trim components from concept through production to meet performance, timing, and cost targets.

You will use Catia V6/3D Experience to develop high-quality 3D data and 2D drawings, collaborate with studio designers to realize design themes, and ensure engineering integrity, weight, and BOM accuracy for Rivian vehicles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 2 years in automotive.
• Class A molding/compression/wrapping experience.
• Knowledge of Catia V5/V6 including Sketcher, GSD and part workbenches preferred.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, thermal forming, 3D printing, and wrap}.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and model Class A plastic injection-molded components for interiors from concept through production.
• Utilize Catia V6/3D Experience to create high-quality 3D data and drawings.
• Develop high-quality 2D drawings in Catia V6.
• Collaborate with studio designers to achieve design themes.
• Own quality, cost, weight, timing, and engineering integrity of interior trim components.
• Engage cross-functionally with internal teams and suppliers to align with goals.
• Design and develop BOMs and perform change management using Enovia.
• Develop DFMEAs with cross-functional teams and cascade dependencies.
• Support Product Validation plans and coordinate validation activities.
