Job summary

Waymo is seeking an experienced interior trim development engineer to work on the Waymo Driver program. You will develop hard and soft trim, door, trunk, and cabin components, using 3D CAD/Catia V6 to support production part development and supplier collaboration.

This hybrid role reports to a Vehicle Engineering Leader. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in interior trim development, with hands-on experience launching vehicles, collaborating with studios and suppliers, and applying DFM during

Qualifications

• Experience developing interior trim components for vehicle programs.
• DFM experience during tooling launches.
• Launched multiple vehicles through production ramp.
• Strong interaction with suppliers during design and tooling changes.
• Knowledge of interior trim materials and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and guide vehicle interiors including hard/soft trim, door/trunk/cabin components.
• Create layouts and packaging studies in 3D CAD to support part development.
• Recommend interior trim materials balancing cost and premium quality.
• Present standard and premium interior execution options to leadership for cost/value evaluation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to identify future partners for components.
