Job summary

Cox Automotive in Virginia is seeking a Vehicle Operations Logistics Specialist I to join our team. You will manage vehicle data entry, VINs, stock numbers, and OBDII tracking devices, ensuring accurate registration and efficient flow at the auction.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and coordination with transporters, with a day shift and on-site work at a Cox location. Prior parking/auction experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, or less than 2 years of related work experience.
• Safe drivers required; valid driver’s license needed.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
• Able to lift 1–15 pounds.
• Vision abilities include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Input accurate vehicle information for registration into the system using a handheld computer for each vehicle received at the Auction including VIN, stock number, dealer identification number, make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc.
• Affix barcode/stock number sticker on each vehicle received.
• Place work order numbers and routing labels on vehicles upon entry.
• Associate and install OBDII tracking device.
• Direct transporters to proper car drop zone.
• Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures.
• Work with safety leadership in support of Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, e.g. assist on sale days driving vehicles through Auction sales lanes.
