State of North Carolina - Department of Transportation is seeking a Vehicle/Equipment Repair Technician I (VERT I) for the Davidson County Equipment Shop. The role entails servicing and repairing gasoline/diesel powered automotive and heavy equipment, including preventive maintenance and diagnostics, with a requirement to furnish a set of mechanics tools.

The job may involve extended hours in adverse weather, safety compliance, and background checks.

Qualifications

• High school or GED required or equivalent experience in repair work.
• EPA Type I/II/III or Universal certification may be required per 40 CFR part 82.
• Ability to read OEM manuals and safely operate equipment.

Responsabilités

• Perform repair and preventive maintenance on light to heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• Maintain service records and inventory; operate equipment for testing and repair.
• Move parts and diagnose mechanical systems per OEM manuals.
