The State of North Carolina - Department of Transportation is seeking a Vehicle/Equipment Repair Technician I (S) to maintain and repair a range of engines and equipment at the Equipment Depot. The role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing servicing and calibrations, and using diagnostic tools to ensure safe operation of gasoline, diesel and alternative powered machinery.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent repair experience) and be able to read

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent repair experience.
Experience reading technical manuals and repair data from manuals or websites.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance on light to heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
EPA Type I/II/III or Universal certification may be required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.

Responsabilités

Inspect, repair, rebuild and diagnose a variety of engines/equipment.
Use diagnostic instruments and software to analyze failures and calibrate systems.
Perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipment.
Determine materials, techniques and tools required for each job assignment.
