The North Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a Vehicle/Equipment Repair Technician I in Wake County, NC. This full-time role performs semi-skilled and skilled repair, inspection and diagnostics on gasoline, diesel and alternative powered engines and equipment.

You will use diagnostic tools and software, read manuals, and perform preventive maintenance. EPA Type I-III or Universal certification may be required.

Competenze

• Knowledge of automotive and/or heavy equipment repair.
• Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance on light/medium/heavy-duty trucks and heavy equipment.
• Experience reading technical manuals and repair data from computer/web sources.

Mansioni

• Perform semi-skilled and skilled small engine, automotive, heavy equipment and/or marine mechanic work.
• Inspect, repair, rebuild and diagnose mechanical systems across gasoline, diesel, and alternative powered engines/equipment.
• Use advanced diagnostic instruments and software; conduct parts/systems failure analysis; calibrate and operate engine analyzers.
• Determine materials, techniques and tools needed; follow written/verbal work orders.
