Job summary

ACV Auctions is hiring a Vehicle Inspector to perform thorough vehicle inspections for online and lane-based sales. You will verify VINs, document damages, and collect photos to support reporting. The role requires basic vehicle knowledge, report writing, and the ability to use standard cost lists.

High school diploma or GED is required; post-high school damage assessment training is preferred. The job offers health plans, disability and life insurance, paid time off, holidays, stock purchase

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Post high school training in damage assessment preferred.
• Background in automotive repair cost estimating preferred.
• Ability to operate computer, laptop, or tablet (iPad preferred).
• Ability to write reports in a professional manner.
• Basic knowledge of vehicles.
• Ability to utilize standardized lists to assign costs for damage.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle identification.
• Identify and update vehicle information, including Year, Make, Model, Trim Lines.
• Inspect vehicle equipment, options, interior, tires, mechanical components.
• Document and estimate vehicle damages.
• Take photographs as needed to support and complete reports, or as necessary on sales days.
• Move vehicles throughout the lot and park them in designated areas if needed.
• Review and document odometer information.
• Assess frame condition and document damages to unibody and/or frame.
• Assess mechanical condition of vehicle, documenting issues found during the condition report process
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
