Job summary

ACV Auctions Inc. is hiring for a vehicle inspector in Dallas, TX. The role focuses on inspecting vehicles, verifying identifications, and documenting damages to support online and in-lane sales. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to operate basic computer or tablet devices.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (GED acceptable) and a background in automotive repair cost estimating is preferred. Post-high school training in damage assessment is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate computer, laptop, or tablet.
• Ability to write reports in a professional manner.
• Basic knowledge of vehicles.
• Ability to utilize standardized lists to assign costs for damage.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections to assess overall condition in support of the processing and sale of client vehicle in the lane and online.
• Verify vehicle identification.
• Identify and update vehicle information, including Year, Make, Model, Trim Lines.
• Inspect vehicle equipment, options, interior, tires, mechanical components.
• Document and estimate vehicle damages.
• Take photographs as needed to support and complete reports, or as necessary on sales days.
• Move vehicles throughout the lot and park them in designated areas if needed.
• Review and document odometer information.
• Assess frame condition and document damages to unibody and/or frame.
• Assess mechanical condition of vehicle, documenting issues found during the condition report process.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
