Job summary

Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) is seeking a General Assembly Vehicle Engineering Associate/Specialist to lead technical efforts during vehicle launches. You will coordinate equipment installation, supplier selection, and implementation phases while preparing detailed specification packages and ensuring quality and safety standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES include reviewing requirements, communicating with teams in Korea and the USA, leading cross functional teams, and preparing assembly

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
• No reason for disqualification for overseas travel or stay
• MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint
• CATIA, CAD or similar programs
• Good communication skills and excellent leadership skills
• Domestic / International travel required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical expert of assigned area during vehicle launches.
• Coordinate and lead project activities, including new equipment installation, supplier selection, and implementation phases.
• Prepare spec package after reviewing requirement (Quality, Safety, UPH, Layout, Ergonomics etc.).
• Communicate with Advanced Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering Team in Korea and other relevant teams in R&D from Korea/USA for successful launch.
• Host video conference in new vehicle design improvement and status follow up meeting.
• Responsible for preparation of the Assembly Process Sheets considering method and line condition with detailed picture and text.
• Work content to be explained through a picture drawn in the workers’ position according to work content, work order and work status.
• Responsible to check the workability and quality for vehicle assembly.
• Ability to check vehicle drawing and design work process as the assembly sequence.
• Determine the Man Hour based on MODAPTS and optimize allocation; analyze and improve performance.
• Participate in Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and other problem-solving teams.
• Serve as technical expert for Team Members, Team Leaders, including technical training.
• Support daily production issues as required.
• Continually review technical developments in area of responsibility and propose new technology projects.
• Prepare presentations/reports on current projects, progress, and issues to management.
• Understand and control labor allocation.
• Meet all other requirements as assigned.
• Ability to perform multi-tasks with multiple priorities within a designated time frame.
