Rite of Passage is seeking a Vehicle and Farm Equipment Maintenance Worker to uphold the campus fleet and farm equipment at Childhelp, Alice C. Tyler Village in Lignum, VA.

This on-site role emphasizes safety, reliability, and year-round maintenance across vehicles and farm machinery. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of diagnostic and repair experience, a valid driver's license, and be prepared to pass background checks and TB testing.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old and able to pass background checks and TB test.
• Driver's license in good standing required.
• Two years’ experience diagnosing and repairing automobiles or farm equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the campus fleet and farm equipment to keep it ready and safe.
• Perform mechanical repairs on automobiles, trucks, farm machinery, and small engines.
• Handle basic building maintenance tasks as part of daily duties.
• Occasional on-call coverage for nights and weekends as scheduled.

Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of at‑risk youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Vehicle and Farm Equipment Maintenance Worker at Childhelp, Alice C. Tyler Village in Lignum, Virginia.

Childhelp is a psychiatric residential treatment facility that specializes in the treatment of children aged 5-14 with mild to severe trauma or neglect, psychiatric disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Our unique location on a 270-acre farm provides a nurturing treatment setting with a variety of therapy resources. We bring the light of love and healing into the lives of countless abused and neglected children, and those suffering from psychiatric and behavioral disorders. What you will do: The primary focus of this role is to maintain the campus fleet and farm equipment and other maintenance activities, ensuring the grounds and facilities remain clean, attractive, and well maintained. The Vehicle and Farm Equipment Maintenance Worker is responsible for the operational readiness, safety, and reliability of a diverse fleet including automobiles, trucks, farm machinery, and small engine equipment. This role combines high-level mechanical repair with active farm operations, requiring someone what can transition from the shop to the field to operate and maintain equipment year-round. Some basic building maintenance is included in daily responisibilities. The ideal candidate will perform work orders consistent with the individual’s ability. Examples of work orders: general building maintenance, minor electrical repairs, minor plumbing repairs, unplugging drains, maintaining smoke detectors and emergency lights, grounds maintenance/irrigation if needed, new construction, etc.

To be considered you should: Be at least 19 years of age ~ High School Diploma preferred ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test. Drivers License in good standing is required

Schedule: Schedule will be Monday-Friday. Paid On call hours required for night and weekend rotation.
