Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to add inventory by purchasing customer vehicles. You will respond to leads, engage private sellers, and arrange dealership visits for appraisals while delivering an exceptional customer experience and meeting the “check within an hour” promise.

The role offers hourly pay plus a bonus per vehicle purchased, with opportunities across a nationwide network and no-haggle pricing philosophy.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Extremely self-motivated with a goal-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Experience in sales or customer service preferred.
• Valid in-state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Comfort with flexible hours and managing customer expectations.
• Familiarity with technology and online car-buying tools.

Responsibilities

• Responds to incoming leads via AutoNation and third-party sites by phone, internet, and walk-in traffic.
• Identifies and engages private parties looking to sell their vehicle using available resources.
• Sets up appointments for customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal.
• Executes the AutoNation We’ll Buy Your Car Same-Day Payment process.
• Reviews vehicle condition reports and conducts on-site inspections.
• Interacts with customers throughout the day, in person and over the phone.
• Refers customers preferring trade-in to the sales team when appropriate.
