Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) seeks a Vegetation Management & Forestry Manager to lead a team of Specialists in overseeing contractor activities and ensuring vegetation stays compliant with regulations. You will provide program leadership and governance to maintain high system reliability and safety.

The role emphasizes managing budgets, deploying new technologies, and mentoring staff while operating in a hybrid work model within California.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of combined experience performing vegetation/forestry management or supervising an organization, unit or group.
• Experience in providing safety, environmental compliance, and quality oversight to contract workforce.
• Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Leads daily management and problem-solving initiatives to ensure adherence to standardized processes and directs emergency storm work response 24/7.
• Acts as the Authorized Edison Representative (AER) for Safety Tier 1 High Risk contractors and manages contractor performance through scorecard metrics.
• Leads development, testing and implementation of new technologies for the vegetation management program.
• Manages program work scope planning and scheduling with vegetation services providers to meet budget, schedule and quality targets.
• Provides program management, oversight and quality control of the vegetation management program to ensure reliability.
• Develops organizational capabilities through talent planning, mentorship and coaching supporting diversity and inclusion.
• Develops an area vegetation maintenance program and trains operations personnel on its implementation.
• Creates and manages project budgets, reforecasting monthly, and standardizes contractor/vendor performance management.
• Serves as a principal contact and SME on utility vegetation management programs and regulations and represents SCE VM to partners, the public/Homeowners and agencies.
