Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Vegetation Management & Forestry Senior Specialist to lead field safety, compliance and environmental programs for the utility’s vegetation management efforts around Santa Monica, CA. This hybrid role requires collaboration with contractors, public agencies and internal teams to safely execute line clearance and wildfire risk reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of vegetation management experience.
• ISA Certified Arborist.
• Valid Class C Driver's License.
• Preferred: ISA TRAQ and ISA Utility Specialist certification.
• Bachelor's degree in forestry, arboriculture, or business.
• Experience managing a Utility Vegetation Management program (8+ years).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs contractor field safety observations and enforces COAs.
• Enforces environmental requirements and drives compliance.
• Facilitates contractor orientation on safety and wildfire risk reduction.
• Performs Post Work Verification on pre-inspection and tree trimming work.
• Provides input to annual work plans and coordinates with RPPM.
• Investigates tree-related outages and reports findings.
• Represents SCE VM to OU partners, the public, homeowners and agencies.
• Monitors costs and approves contractor safety and billing documents.
• Develops and implements new methods for line clearance and vegetation management.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to set project goals and maintain VM strategy.
• Protects company assets and confidential information.
