Job summary

Actian is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Sales Engineer to drive technical strategy for Vector AI databases and analytics solutions. You will be the trusted technical authority, guide complex enterprise deals, and lead PoCs with customers and partners.

This role requires deep vector database expertise, including Milvus and Qdrant, plus strong RAG and LangChain skills. You will mentor global Sales Engineers, collaborate across product, engineering, and marketing, and articulate

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in pre-sales or related role.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, engineering or related field.
• Proven ability to present to technical and executive audiences.
• Hands-on experience with vector databases (Milvus or Qdrant).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Sales team to find and close new business opportunities.
• Provide strategic pre-sales support for needs analysis, technology review, and scoping.
• Create and deliver world-class product presentations and demonstrations.
• Lead proof-of-concept projects at enterprise scale in competitive contexts.
• Maintain deep understanding of competitors and position Actian effectively.
• Mentor and enable Sales Engineers across regions and teams.
