Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking Construction Inspectors in the Richmond area. You will manage daily construction management, inspect roadway/bridge work, and ensure conformance to plans, specs, and permits.

Strong reading of plans and effective communication with project teams are essential. The role requires several years of field inspection experience, valid licenses, and applicable certifications such as VDOT materials certification.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum three years of field construction inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting roadway and bridge construction and related projects.
• Ability to read/interpret plans and specifications; write and draw inspection reports.

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform daily construction management and inspection services for transportation projects.
• Perform field inspection of Contractor's operations for conformance to contract documents.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports on work accomplished by Contractor.
• Perform materials testing and maintain testing logs.
• Review periodic pay estimates for accuracy with Contractor.
• Prepare sketches and data for Engineer's changes to the project.
• Maintain diaries and notes on work and deficiencies.
• Review Contractor schedules including CPM and updates.
• Communicate with Engineer, Owner, and project team on field conditions.
