Job summary

NextGen Federal Systems, LLC is seeking a VDI Engineer to support onsite at WPAFB in Ohio. You will build, test and optimize virtual desktop infrastructure, including gold images, host pools, and profile containers, while integrating AD services and workspaces.

Strong communication and SOP drafting skills are required. Qualified candidates hold a BS in IT or related field and possess certifications in Azure Virtual Desktop, VMware Horizon, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Clear understanding of VDI platforms and testing.
• Experience with Windows/dedicated VDI environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engineer VDI platform and perform testing.
• Build and maintain gold images and multi-session host pools.
• Configure FSLogix profile containers and auto-scaling rules.
• Package and deploy apps, integrate AD services, administer WorkSpaces pools.

Job description

NextGen Federal Systems, LLC is an innovative technology and professional services provider specializing in advanced software solutions and comprehensive mission and business support services. We are looking for VDI Engineer candidates to work in support of onsite customer at WPAFB.

• Proficient in VDI Platform Engineering & Testing
• Build and maintain gold images, manage multi-session host pools, configure FSLogix profile containers, and implement cost-saving auto-scaling rules.
• Package and deploy applications, integrate Active Directory/AWS Directory Services, administer WorkSpaces pools, and configure streaming protocols (WSP/PCoIP).
• Provision and optimize instant clones, manage virtualization storage layers, configure Horizon Connection Servers, and orchestrate hybrid extensions.
• Testing & and establish User Feedback Loops, gather performance metrics (latency, logon times, peripheral compatibility), and refine virtual desktop templates based on structured user feedback.

• CompTIA Security+
• BS in Information Technology or closely related field

• US Citizenship Required
• Active TS/SCI clearance held by the DoD required

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator
• VMware Certified Professional - Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM) or Omnissa Horizon credentials

• Experience configuring and operating 10ZiG Manager or equivalent thin-client deployment consoles.
• Strong technical communication skills, with experience drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical design blueprints, and system whitepapers.
• Documented experience executing STIG checklists and supporting CTO/ATO documentation packages in highly regulated enterprise environments.
