Job summary

NextGen Federal Systems, LLC is seeking a VDI Platform Engineer to support onsite at Wright Patterson AFB. You will build and maintain images, manage multi-session host pools, configure FSLogix profiles, and implement auto-scaling rules to optimize costs.

The role requires solid experience with Horizon/VDI tooling, AD/AWS Directory Services, and performance metrics. A BS in IT and active clearance are preferred for this DoD environment.

• Experience building and maintaining gold images and host pools.
• Proficient with FSLogix profile containers and auto-scaling rules.
• Strong technical writing and SOP/documentation skills.

We are looking for VDI Platform Engineer candidates to work in support of onsite customer at Wright Patterson AFB.

• Proficient inVDI Platform Engineering & Testing
• Build andmaintaingold images, manage multi-session host pools, configureFSLogixprofile containers, and implement cost-saving auto-scaling rules.
• Package and deploy applications, integrate Active Directory/AWS Directory Services, administerWorkSpacespools, and configure streaming protocols (WSP/PCoIP).
• Provision andoptimizeinstant clones, manage virtualization storage layers, configure Horizon Connection Servers, and orchestrate hybrid extensions.
• Testing &andestablishUser Feedback Loops, gather performance metrics (latency, logon times, peripheral compatibility), and refine virtual desktop templates based on structured user feedback.

• CompTIA Security+
• BS in Information Technology or closely related field

• US Citizenship Required
• Active TS/SCI clearance held by the DoDrequired

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect orSysOpsAdministrator
• VMware Certified Professional - Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM) orOmnissaHorizon credentials

• Experience configuring and operating 10ZiG Manager or equivalent thin-client deployment consoles.
• Strong technical communication skills, with experience drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical design blueprints, and system whitepapers.
• Documented experience executing STIG checklists and supporting CTO/ATO documentation packages in highly regulated enterprise environments.
