Job summary

iENG Design is seeking a qualified VDC Specialist to join its Charlotte, NC team. The role emphasizes CAD VDC work, layout, and coordination with engineers and designers on active projects. The candidate will provide remote and onsite support as needed.

Ideal applicants have 3+ years of CAD experience with strong REVIT/AutoCAD skills and a focus on layout. Some travel may be required to support field and project teams across nationwide engagements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CAD experience with emphasis on layout in VDC.
• Proficient with REVIT, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Microsoft Teams/Planner.
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical duct design or related field.
• Willing to travel on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

• Produce deliverables including spool drawings/maps, installation drawings, hanger maps, etc.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members for accurate integration of sheet metal systems in the model.
• Sheet metal design and modeling based on details and existing models.
• Provide technical support to project teams by troubleshooting VDC issues and assisting with revisions.
• Hanger and supplemental steel layout and fabrication.
• Support the field and shop through the life of the project.
• Review and ensure modeling/design accuracy per project standards.
