Job summary

iENG Design in Raleigh, NC, seeks a VDC Specialist to join our VDC team. The role is primarily based out of our Raleigh office and will provide remote and onsite technical support across active projects.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of CAD experience with a focus on scanning, surveying, and layout development for sheet metal systems. You will help develop layout standards, lead coordination with engineers and designers, and ensure models meet project specifications.

Qualifications

• An associate degree in applied science or equivalent experience preferred.
• Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and MS Teams/Planner.
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical duct design, VDC, or related field.
• Willing to travel on an as needed basis.
• Ability to work under deadlines with multiple duties; attention to detail is essential.
• Strong communication and independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Produce deliverables including spool drawings/maps, installation drawings, hanger maps, etc.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure accurate integration of sheet metal systems within the building model.
• Sheet metal design and modeling based off details, Flow Diagrams, and existing models.
• Provide technical support to project teams by troubleshooting VDC-related issues and assisting with model revisions as needed.
• Hanger and supplemental steel layout and fabrication.
• Provide support to the field and shop through the life of the project.
• Review and ensure the accuracy of modeling and design work, adhering to project specifications and standards.
