Job summary

Precision Surveying & Consulting, Inc. is seeking a VDC Modeler to create and manage accurate 3D models for project coordination, visualization, and construction sequencing.

You will work closely with project managers, field teams, and clients to ensure designs reflect intent and support field execution. Responsibilities include 3D modeling, clash detection, and generating shop drawings, with opportunities to develop 4D/5D models and integrate survey data as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with BIM/VDC modeling for construction projects.
• 1–3 years BIM/VDC modeling experience.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Carlson.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D models for use in construction coordination, clash detection, and visualization.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Field Crews to ensure models accurately reflect construction needs and field conditions.
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals to create precise models.
• Perform clash detection and assist in resolving conflicts through coordination meetings.
• Generate shop drawings, lift drawings, and installation sequences from models.
• Assist in developing 4D (schedule-based) and 5D (cost-based) models when applicable.
• Integrate survey data and as-built conditions into models as needed.
• Prepare models for use in field layout, including exporting to robotic total stations or GPS devices.
• Participate in project meetings to communicate VDC deliverables and coordination issues.
• Manage model updates and version control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the implementation of VDC standards, best practices, and process improvements.
