Job summary

Interstates is seeking a VDC Planner to partner with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to plan and coordinate virtual design and construction activities that enhance productivity and safety. You will apply electrical installation expertise to define VDC scope, support prefabrication, and align deliverables with schedules.

The role requires a Journeyman license with 3–5 years of experience in electrical planning, design, or construction coordination, and a strong NEC background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical construction management or related technical field preferred.
• Associate degree with substantial electrical planning/construction experience considered.
• Journeyman license with 3–5 years in electrical planning/design/construction coordination.
• Strong NEC knowledge and ability to collaborate with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with VDC coordination for subcontractors with basic guidance.
• Review project scope, schedules, and prefabrication opportunities onsite.
• Define VDC scope by planning activities and setting deliverable schedules.
• Recommend electrical installation practices by consulting past projects and codes.
• Promote adherence to planning standards and adopt new VDC technologies.
• Collect project data and communicate changes to team members.
• Mentor designers and technicians, reviewing work and delegating BIM models.
