Job summary

Power Design is seeking a VDC Design Manager/Senior Design Manager to lead virtual design and coordination for complex projects in a hybrid work setting. You will drive BIM deliverables, constructability reviews, and installation planning while ensuring code compliance and cost effectiveness.

Collaboration with operations, consultants, and trade partners is essential for success. The role requires 5+ years in VDC/BIM within electrical, mechanical, or plumbing domains, and strong leadership in

Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
5+ years in construction, VDC, BIM modeling, detailing, coordination, or installation.
Proficiency with Revit; working knowledge of AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam.
Ability to lead coordination, resolve conflicts, and drive outcomes.
Experience with prefabrication, installation planning is a plus.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the VDC coordination process from preconstruction through design completion.
Manage coordination schedules, deliverables, and VDC timelines.
Lead coordination meetings and clash detection; resolve design issues.
Review plans, specs, BIM Execution Plans for code-compliant installs.
Develop and maintain BIM models, coordination and shop drawings.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and field teams.
Evaluate design options and provide value engineering recommendations.
Maintain RFIs, ASIs, addenda, and design updates.
Monitor budgets, schedules, and production goals.
Provide technical guidance to VDC team and stakeholders.
Represent Power Design in meetings and coordination activities.
Contribute to continuous improvement of VDC processes and standards.
