Job summary

Moore's Electrical & Mechanical invites an intern to join the Projects team for Summer 2027. Gain hands‑on experience in virtual design and BIM for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical piping on commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Undergrad student pursuing a degree in Construction Management or Construction Engineering.
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a team‑first approach.

Responsibilities

• Work with the VDC/projects team on current internship projects.
• Assist field staff with drawings or models as needed.
• Gain experience in design software and project workflows.
• Shadow on working job sites to observe installations of mechanical systems.
• Support team morale initiatives and presentations for leadership.

The Role

Moore's Electrical & Mechanical is seeking a dynamic and motivated intern to join our Projects team for the Summer of 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in virtual design and building information modeling for commercial projects in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and/or mechanical piping. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, develop valuable skills, and contribute to our continued success.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with VDC team members on current projects
• Work with field staff on questions with drawings or models
• Gain experience in Revit and other design software/equipment
• Potentially visit working job sites to shadow installations of mechanica/electrical systems
• Strategize for events/items to maintain and boost team morale
• Interact respectfully and productively with all types of people regardless of social or economic status
• Prepare presentation for Leadership at the completion of the internship

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Construction Management or Construction Engineering
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a team‑first mindset
• Desire to learn and grow
• Transportation and ability to commute to the Altavista Offices and our job sites
• Great sense of humor
