Job summary

Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) is seeking an Electromechanical Systems Engineer to support Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives focused on improving product profitability, performance, and quality. You’ll evaluate existing designs, develop cost‑effective alternatives, and solve electromechanical challenges.

As the primary Systems Engineer within the VAVE team, you’ll partner with manufacturing, operations, product development, and suppliers to translate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with DFMA concepts and best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Identify and propose design alternatives that reduce product cost while maintaining performance and quality.
• Develop and test redesigned components and systems for VAVE and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Troubleshoot existing product issues, perform root cause analysis, and modify designs to meet targets.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and costs for design, sourcing, and product improvements.
• Serve as the primary Systems Engineer within the VAVE team providing electromechanical expertise.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, product development, suppliers, and other stakeholders to implement improvements.
• Drive initiatives that influence product cost, manufacturability, and profitability.
