Job summary

Toyota Material Handling North America is seeking an Electromechanical Systems Engineer to support Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives, evaluating designs and developing cost-effective alternatives to improve profitability, performance, and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of electromechanical systems and industrial manufacturing processes.
• Experience with DFMA principles and best practices.
• Root cause analysis and data-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Identify and propose design alternatives that reduce product cost while maintaining or improving performance and quality.
• Develop and test redesigned components and systems to support VAVE and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Troubleshoot existing product issues, perform root cause analysis, and modify designs to achieve defined targets.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and costs to identify opportunities for design, sourcing, and product improvements.
• Serve as the primary Systems Engineer within the VAVE team, providing electromechanical engineering expertise.
• Partner with manufacturing, operations, product development, suppliers, and other stakeholders to evaluate and implement improvements.
• Drive engineering initiatives that directly influence product cost, manufacturability, and organizational profitability.
