Job summary

Duly Health and Care is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Vascular Surgery team in Joliet, IL. This full-time role will require 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm with occasional Saturday 8:00am–12:00pm, and some travel to nearby clinics.

You will greet patients, assist with registrations, take vital signs, and support physicians during exams and minor procedures. Certification and EMR experience are preferred; phlebotomy may be required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher health sciences courses required.
• Active Medical Assistant certification through AMT/NCCT/NHA/ARMA/AAMA; CPR certification or willingness to become certified on hire.
• Phlebotomy certification to be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Prior MA/CMA/CNA/EMT experience or 2 years in a medical office assisting with patient care.
• Prior experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) preferred.
• Health sciences graduates welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs and collecting health history.
• Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures.
• Certified medical assistants may assist with immunizations or injections.
• Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing.
• Conduct onsite lab testing including EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests.
• Maintain clean, warm and inviting examination rooms for patient visits.
• Provide excellent customer service exemplifying Duly Health and Care CARE values.
• Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required.
