Job summary

Duly Health and Care seeks a Medical Assistant for our Joliet location. You will greet patients, take vitals, assist physicians, and perform basic lab tests in a patient-centered, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or health sciences coursework.
• Active MA certification options include AMT, NCCT, NHA, ARMA or AAMA.
• CPR certification required or willing to obtain upon hire.
• Phlebotomy certification may be required within 90 days of hire.
• Prior MA/CMA/CNA/EMT or 2 years of medical office experience preferred.
• Prior EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, vitals and health history.
• Support physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
• Assist with immunizations or injections when certified.
• Handle prescription requests, pharmacy callbacks and chart updates.
• Conduct onsite lab tests including EKG, PFT, glucose and urine pregnancy tests.
• Maintain clean, welcoming examination rooms for patient visits.
• Deliver excellent service aligned with Duly Health and Care CARE values.
• Travel to assist other local clinics as needed.

Education

Overview: Medical Assistant

Position Highlights

• Medical Assistant - Vascular Surgery
• Full-Time; 40 hours/week
• Hours: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm; Occasional Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm
• Location: Joliet
• Travel: Expected as needed to Naperville, Elmhurst and Lockport clinics.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs and collecting health history
• Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures
• Certified medical assistants may assist with immunizations or injections
• Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing
• Conduct onsite lab testing to include: EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests
• Maintains clean, warm and inviting examination rooms for patient visits
• Provide excellent customer service exemplifying Duly Health and Care CARE values
• Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required
• Several of our clinical specialties including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Family Practice, require active medical assistant certification through one of the following:
• American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
• National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
• American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
• American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• CPR certification or willing to become certified upon hire required
• May require phlebotomy certification to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Prior experience working as an MA, CMA, CNA, EMT or 2 years of prior experience working in a medical office assisting with patient care
• Prior experience using an electronic medical record preferred
• College graduates from a health sciences program interested in gaining patient care experience and in pursuing a career in healthcare are welcome to apply

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $21.43-23.63 for a Medical Assistant; Certified or Registered Medical Assistant the base pay range is $22.97-24.57, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
