Job summary

Duly Health and Care is hiring a Medical Assistant for a full-time, day-shift role in Joliet. You will greet patients, assist with registration and exams, and help with immunizations and lab testing. Some travel to other clinics may be required.

The role requires completing a MA program, certification, and CPR; prior EMR experience and healthcare teamwork are valued. Comprehensive benefits and 401(k) are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required.
• Active medical assistant certification through one of AMT, NCCT, NHA, ARMA, AAMA preferred for several specialties.
• CPR certification or willing to become certified upon hire required.
• Phlebotomy certification may be required within 90 days of hire.
• Prior experience as MA/CMA/CNA/EMT or 2+ years in a medical office assisting with patient care.
• Prior experience using an electronic medical record preferred.
• College graduates from a health sciences program are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs and collecting health history.
• Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures.
• Certified medical assistants may assist with immunizations or injections.
• Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing.
• Conduct onsite lab testing including EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests.
• Maintains clean, warm and inviting examination rooms for patient visits.
• Provide excellent customer service exemplifying Duly Health and Care CARE values.
• Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required.
