Job summary

CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support physicians in a busy clinic setting. Monday–Friday, days, with 36 hours per week, you will assist with patient prep, documentation, and scheduling, while ensuring accurate care notes are entered for each visit.

The role requires MA certification (CMA/RMA/NCMA) and BLS within 30 days. Prior MA experience is preferred, along with basic computer skills and phlebotomy/EKG lead experience.

Qualifications

• Current MA Certification from CMA, RMA or NCMA is required.
• BL S certification within 30 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
• Prior MA experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Phlebotomy and EKG leads experience preferred.
• Ability to provide age-appropriate care for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care under the physician or RN supervision.
• Assists in preparing patients for examinations with physicians.
• Documents patient progress and communicates with the physician.
• Educates patients and families on medications and treatment directions.
• Schedules appointments and referrals and performs reception duties as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
