Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program such as NHA or AMCA required.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.
• At least one year of related medical assisting experience in a physician’s office or clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs and reason for visit, document symptoms with frequency and severity.
• Provide injections and immunizations as ordered by the provider.
• Assist with procedures and re-processing of instruments.
• Maintain patient records and confidentiality; manage referrals and communications.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, greet and check in patients, and assist with insurance verifications and authorizations.
