Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Sonographer to perform general, vascular, and cardiac ultrasound studies in a fast-paced imaging department. You will review orders, prepare patients, set up equipment, and ensure accurate imaging while maintaining patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
• Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Sonographer role.
• Registration in RDMS/ARRT or equivalent within required timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently operates ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular and/or cardiac studies.
• Reviews patient records to obtain clinical information and ensures exam accuracy.
• Positions patient and selects transducer and factors for accurate images; ensures patient comfort.
• Labels images with patient identifiers and documents in the radiology information system.
• Identifies equipment issues and participates in evaluating new products and equipment.
