Job summary

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond high school that includes completion of an accredited or approved program in sonography.
• No experience required.
• ARDMS/ARRT registrations should be obtained within specified timeframes depending on credential.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment for general, vascular and/or cardiac studies.
• Review patient records and orders for exam accuracy.
• Position patient and adjust transducer and technical factors for accurate imaging.
• Identify, record, and label images with patient identifiers.
• Document billing codes and enter data into radiology information system.
• Communicate findings to the physician.
• Maintain safety and patient comfort.
• Adapt procedures based on anatomy and clinical information.
