Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent mathematical skills and ability to handle monies.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills; able to adapt, prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, commercial and government health insurance and billing guidelines, ACA requirements, DRG and CPT/HCPC codes.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, payers, and providers to gather information for accurate registration, scheduling, referrals, and check-in.
• Respond to billing and payment inquiries as needed.
• Mentor and train staff on departmental procedures.
• Schedule and re-schedule complex patient procedures and appointments with high accuracy.
• Document patient-provider communications and verify insurance data.
• Display proactive customer service and escalate to leadership as needed.
