Job summary

Durham Academy is seeking a part-time Varsity Track and Field Assistant Coach with a specialty in jumps (high jump, long jump, triple jump) for Durham, NC. You will coach up to 15 high school athletes, teach mechanics, and develop workouts under the Head Coaches.

Hours are Monday–Friday 3:30–5:30 pm with no weekend duties beyond Conference and State Meet. Durham Academy emphasizes diversity, equity and engagement in its community.

Qualifications

• Experience competing in jumping events at high school, collegiate, or professional level.
• Ability to teach basic, intermediate, and advanced jumping mechanics.
• Develop workouts appropriate for varying skill levels.

Varsity Track and Field Assistant Coach- Jumps

Coaching Athletics Seasonal Durham, NC, US

Durham Academy is accepting applications for part-time varsity assistant track coach with a specialization in the following jumping events: high jump, long jump, and triple jump.

Position : Teaching, coaching, and mentoring up to 15 high school athletes participating in any of the jumping events (i.e. high jump, long jump, and/or triple jump). Will report directly to the Head Coaches.

Qualifications:

• Experience competing in any or all of the jumping events at the high school, collegiate, or professional level.
• Can teach basic, intermediate, and advanced skills regarding mechanics, technique, and form.
• Must be able to develop and implement workouts appropriate for varying skill levels.
• Ability to communicate and work well with other coaches, parents, and student-athletes.
• Enjoy helping student-athletes reach their potential.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Attend practices and meets.

When:

• Practice times Monday through Friday, 3:30 to 5:30
• No weekend responsibilities other than attending the Conference and State Meet at the end of the season.
