Job summary

Care Initiatives’ Manly Specialty Care in Manly, IA is hiring a Van Driver to transport residents to appointments and events, assist with boarding, and ensure safety during travel.

You will coordinate with nursing staff, maintain the vehicle, and support a compassionate healthcare team while preserving residents’ dignity and well-being. Flexible hours including weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Class D Driver's License with Chauffeur Endorsement.
• No DUI convictions in the past.
• CPR and first aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies)
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Valid Driver’s License with Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement
• Not more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years
• No previous driving while under the influence convictions
• CPR and first aide certification or willingness to accomplish
