Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a Van Driver to transport residents safely to appointments, events, and activities across Iowa. You will assist with boarding, wheelchair securement, and coordination of pick-ups and drop-offs.

Responsibilities include reporting concerns to nursing staff, maintaining vehicle safety, and communicating with facility teams. The role emphasizes compassionate care, reliability, and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver’s License with Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement
• Not more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years
• No previous driving while under the influence convictions
• CPR and first aide certification or willingness to accomplish

• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies).
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends
