Job summary

Heritage Specialty Care in Cedar Rapids, IA is hiring a PRN Van Driver to transport residents to appointments and events, assist boarding, and maintain a safe vehicle. Minimum 21 years old, valid Class D driver's license with Chauffeur endorsement, no DUI convictions, up to two traffic violations in 3 years, and CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Class D driver’s license with Chauffeur Endorsement.
• No more than 2 traffic violations in the last 3 years.
• No previous driving while under the influence convictions.
• CPR and first aid certification or willingness to accomplish.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pickups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies).
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:
